This tunnel is build on a site that used to be the garden of Hofwijck, the house of Constantijn and Christiaan Huygens which has now been turned into a museum.
Christiaan Huygens contributed to the development of the telescope and the Microscope. The invention of the telescope and microscope between 1600 and 1640 changed how people looked at their surroundings in the 17th century. Artist Geert Mul works with digital media and noticed a parallel between these discoveries in the 17th century and contemporary information culture. Like four hundred years ago the rapid exponential growth of information changes the way we look at the world.
