Geert Mul collaborated as video artist with choreographer and artistic director Alida Dors on the performance (Sur)render, in which Dors explores the concept of a “new we,” after the fall of nature. The show offers an immersive experience, integrating mesmerizing dance, compelling live music, flowing poetry, and visually striking video art by Mul. Together, these elements create a powerful experience that captivates audiences and prompts reflection on connection, identity, and collectivity.

Arts Talk Magazine – Atulya Jain: (Sur)render is a multimodal production where Dors’s choreography intersects with the dynamic live music by the HAYP band and Geert Mul’s breathtaking video art, creating an unapologetic commentary on how we, as humans, must change our ways if we wish to survive the consequences of our actions. What particularly stands out is that, despite its intensity and strong opinions, the entire performance leaves room for individual interpretation. While the body language and music were essential, the visual elements were the crowning jewel. The interplay of lights created diverse atmospheres, from urgency to ethereality, and the video art particularly heightened the discomfort intended by the show.
